Kreuzers, Kreuzerettes and Kreuzetonians,
You have just done what was considered almost impossible a short time ago. You took a highly successful series of events and made them even bigger and better when the consensus was to do otherwise.
The first ever go cart race in Kettering was a stunning success when the actual sales of the carts were considered to be somewhat of a disappointment. Like most silver linings, it turned out to be almost intuitive.
Much of what was learned was from observation rather than reaction. The go cart gurus are already game planning next year. Today.
Thanks to the City of Kettering's involvement our two other major events, the autocross and car show, had a geographic change. Small in nature but large in scope, another hurdle had to be overcome.
Not surprisingly this year's autocross was the biggest driving event ever, a whopping one-hundred and five entries! That is almost double last year's participants.
The car show wasn't much different. Twenty-two classes were very well represented, most of them new.
The biggest and best Taj Kreuzers SpeedFest ever just wrapped up with the least amount of my involvement and the most of yours. Coincidentally the results are obvious and undeniable. You made it happen.
The first ever Lady's and Monte Carlo Night are other examples of how you got it done through new and different venues.
The Raffle Car was promoted as never before. It spent more nights away from home than most sailors.
Certainly there are areas where we can and will improve. Except when and where it comes to each and every one of you who continue to be a part of SpeedFest.
Thank You, John
