This incredible time warp vehicle is one of three in existence and one of only six ever built! The Mangosta Sport Buggy was designed and built in Ventura California as the Ferrari of Dune Buggies, the most deluxe and highest fashion Buggy on the market. Introduced in 1970 this was the top of the line machine, designed to blow the Manx in the dust. Unfortunately it's high price and late entry into the Dune Buggy scene made it a short lived phenomenon.
This example was one of three company show cars and was used in magazine advertisements and such. It was never registered and after the closure of the company, it was stashed away in a warehouse and private collection where it sat for over 30 years. Recently discovered in Santa Barbara California, it was purchased from a long time car collector in his 80's who had taken ownership many years ago.
The car is in phenomenal all original condition. The original 1970 tires still have the nipples on them and from there on up it is still like new. The car was stored in a climate controlled environment and the tires are not age cracked or flat spotted. The interior is all original and looks fantastic with only the slightest bit of fade on the top edge of the driver's side panel. The original gel coat "Rootbeer Brown Metal Flake" finish is excellent.
This is a true time warp machine. One of the rarest Dune Buggies in existence...only six were built and only three have been found...and this is the only all original example known.
